Di, sounds erie, but enlightening. I guess the saying goes, everything

happens for a reason, and it really did. Wow, talk about something that

makes you stop and think. Now a new mom has someone close for advise and

support, and you just might have a new friend. Neat! Beth

Di,

What a wonderful story! Thank you for sharing it...and of course, I

think there was no accident about it. Sent or led? Who knows? But I have

seen instances again and again where our kids seem to have a sort of

communication with each other that the rest of us do not share...

ends). We are strolling up and he stops at one house, puts his hands on the

fence and starts yelling at the house, " HEY! " . A little boy comes to the

door and says hi. Then the mom comes and she had a strange look on her face.

She steps onto the porch and asks how old he is. Then I notice she's

pregnant. She says " We suspect my baby has DS " . I got chills. Why in the

questions and I felt good being able to help her out.

I think we were sent there for a reason....

Di,

Hi. Something similiar happened like that to us. I was on my way to a

Picnic and was parking my car. I saw a mom with a baby in a stroller walk

past us. I thought the baby had DS. I jumped out of the car with and

told Ralph to finish parking. He was looking at me like i'm nuts (which I

am).

So, amanda and i go up the block and the woman had taken the baby inside and

came back out for the stroller. So she said, " Can I ask you a question about

your daughter? " And I said, " Can I ask you a question about your son? " and

we both started laughing!!!

Since then, I had dinner at their house this past Saturday. We live very

close to each other. She found a group of parents of DS babies that meet

regularly, but we were glad we " ran " into each other and will be in touch.

She will be going to the NYC Buddy Walk and hopefully has joined this list.

Because they really want to go to the suaree too!!!

Our kids aren't called " Angels Unaware " for nothing, Di. Nic knew exactly

what he was doing! Stories such as this is one of the reasons I oppose

finding a " cure " for Down's Syndrome. Find cures for some of the side

effects of DS, but leave those chromosomes alone!

So true Gail and Di. I believe that 's senses are much more in tune

with her surrounding then mine.

How else could she have looked at a few college age girls and pick one and

only one to hug after looking them over a couple of times in about 30 secs.

She had no hestitation about who needed the hug, it was really wierd seeing

how she did that.

She doesn't hug strangers alot, but Just a yr ago she walked up to this lady

in Sams while walking ahead of me and hugged her. :-( I assume she thought

the lady needed a hug because she normally doesn't hug strangers. I think

that was the second time she has done the hugging of a stranger like this,

the first being at the college when she was about 6 or 7. So embarrasing to

have to pull her back and appologize to the couple. LOL while trying to get

to understand that we don't hug people we don't know.

So I continue to watch her even now, just in case she picks someone.....

ummm, well you know.

That incident was definitely no coincidence, Di. G*d used Nic to lead you

all to that lady who needs you all. Pure and simple. Please keep us posted

Kali has built in radar for others with DS & has always seemed to have an

extra sense of similarity. Always more comfortable among others with DS.

Breezy can find another person with Down syndrome in any crowd. She also has

given this gift to her sister. She sees a person with Down syndrome and gets

so excited, she comes to me and quietly says look Mom they are like Bri! But

I have noticed too that people who have a family member, friend or

acquittance can spot Breezy from across the way too and I have determined

that these people have the gift; they can see the angel wings. I proved that

to my sister one day at Disneyland. I told her you can tell who sees Breezy

as special and who sees her as different. There is a world of difference in

their response to her. Ain't life great? We get to watch these little

things evolve in our life's and most people just live life :0) How boring

can that be. haha. God Bless, GW
