Guest guest
HI I have been sulking for the past two days with school upon us on the 13th. This is the first year (summer) that I have NOT wanted school to start..........it's been an awesome summer, especially having Casey here for Sara Good news is I get to keep her (yes KEEP her lol) after school hours she will motivate Sara in her 3rd grade homework (she also is going into 3rd grade!!!) Bad news is the school called for an IEP meeting next week. I knew we talked about it last Spring, so that I could meet Sara's new teachers and discuss adaptations and support needed for 3rd grade, (see both Reg Ed and Sped will be new.....again) but I'm a tad bit suspicious that this meeting is more than intros. Our state does NOT have a State budget yet, and even when they get one they say our County must cut 2 MILLION dollars from their education budget, now guess who will get cut first. As of right now Sara has an updated IEP, drawn up in May. We have an assistant included as support for her and the class. My question is can they now try to take away this support? (in the spirit of saving money) I know legally they really cant, we signed and all agreed to the supports BUT they may have a trick or two up their sleeves. My meeting is Wednesday so please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. I don't know why but my intuition tells me this meeting has a hidden agenda. I hate these Aug. meetings right after a summer break lol Im no way ready for this and have forgotten why I wanted to meet anyway lol Kathy mom to Sara 9...........who might bring Casey to my meeting for a bit, she sure could shed light on my little one lol
