Well, you already stated that you know LEGALLY they can't...so you just need

to make sure they DON'T.

Take a copy of the IEP where it is written.

Take a copy of IDEA where it states that changes can't be made unless there

is documented proof that it isn't working.

Take a tape recorder.

And take a positive attitude and assume that it IS just an introductory

meeting and they also want all the new staff to meet you.

Hey, Kathy, MAYBE, they are just asking YOU because you are such a wonderful

parent and advocate for your child and other children and they want them to

meet you and know that you are available to assist them and straighten out

all the cases that they have now inherited!!.... Whaddya think?

remember I mentioned last nite that Rochester had to cut 6 to 10 mil from

their budget (cause the voters of the city refused to give them more through

property taxes) Well the cuts DO NOT affect support personal like aides for

kids with disablities IF that was agreed upon in the IEP. the aide cut were

the classroom assistants and probably office assistants. They did know that

they could not cut something that was already agreed upon. So don't worry to

much. Just tellem you aren't changing your mind. hehe. They can cut one

of the office staff or teacher helpers instead. :-)

Summer only half over here! I've been waiting for this. You guys all

finished in May and early June and we were sweating it out till the end of

June, and now is my turn to gloat. We dont go back until after Labor Day.

We havent even gone on our real vaca yet. We will head out to Fla on Aug 14.

Our nieces will already be in school there. Too bad

Still in summer mode here. I love it. No work. spend time with the kids.

Go to the beach. Go to spumoni Gardens. OK, now who's paying attention????

Summer only half over here! I've been waiting for this. You guys all

finished in May and early June and we were sweating it out till the end of

June, and now is my turn to gloat. We dont go back until after Labor Day.

We havent even gone on our real vaca yet. We will head out to Fla on Aug 14.

Our nieces will already be in school there. Too bad

Still in summer mode here. I love it. No work. spend time with the kids.

Not yet!! Our kids don't start back until August 27th. leaves

August 13th (Katey will have a party that day, I am sure of it!).

has three more weeks of summer camp and I will need to line up babysitters

for the week before school starts.

We also had a cool front move in a few days ago and the weather today was

just perfect. It will probably be hot in North Carolina tomorrow...my plane

leaves at 6 am

No, never have, we do get the week of thanksgiving off. They do teacher

conferences then. Mostly because they got tired of the short week at the end

of Oct. (2 days for MEA) then about a week later end of the quarter where

they got friday off , followed the next week by a short week to give 2 days

to conferences follwed by a two day week a couple weeks later for

thanksgiving break. Now the do MEA, end of quarter and nothing til

thanksgiving. Everyone really likes it. Oh and our Christmas breaks are

usually short to. Best to get it over and done with seems to be the way my

school has always done it. hehe. even when I went there. :-)
