Guest guest
This is the best concept I've heard in a long time: " ...what gives every other person quality in their lives: a place to call home with control over the front door; community membership; long term relationships; and, at least a plan to address poverty. " And that's important to me, especially the last one for those who are capable of competitive employment. So much of government offerings are aimed at caring for people who society has decided are not capable, and the key to the offerings is to prove yourself incapable. I don't know what the answer is for those who need bootstraps to pull themselves up. For those who could work and support themselves, there does not seem to be clear options for housing or smaller supports. In Neal's transition years, I kept reading about " person-centered planning " and thinking that the term was heavily used but not very clearly defined. -Gail From: pam_harris@... <pam_harris@...> Subject: Want to read a great article?
