Guest guest
Folks, I am in the process of gathering questions for the FSN's " Listening Session " with Lilia Teninty NEXT Monday evening. I hope that you are able to attend. In a minute in a separate e-mail I'll send you the info about how to connect with the webinar. These are questions that I have crafted out of Liz's e-mail from the last few days. Do you have more? 1. My problem is that I don't know what to tell my son when he tells me he wants to leave the ICF/DD he lives in and move into another home. a. Am I fighting to get him moved for NOTHING? b. Do we have to leave him in a place that's not appropriate for him & where he's NOT going to get decent care? (He doesn't transition well, so I really hate to move him into another 16 bed facility which would most likely be further away from the community that he's lived in almost his whole life.) c. If he has NO CHANCE of being pulled from the PUNS list, shouldn't I just have his name taken off of it? d. What are the advocacy resources for someone living in an ICF/DD? It seems to me though that if a person is existing (I made the mistake earlier & said living..)in an ICF-DD they are S.O.L. when it comes to moving unless they are being harmed physically or sexually abused. He hasn't been sexually abused, thank goodness & has had only one instance of a mod bruise. e. Does a list exist that directly compares ICF/DD's and CILA? f. What is the current status of the Ligas Lawsuit and how does it impact people currently living in ICF/DD's? Charlotte

Guest guest
I am sure some folks have asked about how managed care will impact day programs? Will families and individuals still have a choice of which day programs they can choose or will there be some restrictions? Ellen Ellen Garber Bronfeld egskb@...
