Margie...no it is not your fault at all. One of the changes to health care

should be portability...such that you are responsible for your own coverage

and not your employer. Why not have employers give a stipend or government

give a tax credit so a family can purchase its own health insurance so

that when someone loses a job and gets a new one they can keep their insurance

on the plan they choose and not whatever the new employer chooses to give

them? Why if you are sick and can't work does your insurance have to lapse?

It wouldn't if insurance was not employer-based...

As for COBRA, why should it ever run out as it seems a COBRA payment is

more than a regular monthly premium??? Why should gov't limit the time on

COBRA???

You know what, the health care bill plan the administration is trying to

shove down our throats will not be like a trip to Oz. Special abled

individuals and elderly will be at the bottom of the list for services. We

will not

be able to get in to get the treatment needed, if the government plans

were so great in other countries why do we have so many Canadians crossing

the

boarder to get care??? Be careful people, keep your eyes and ears open.

What sickens me is that the Senate bill passed on Christmas Eve...nearly 3

months later there are House members who are " undecided " ...even at 2700

pages they should have had time to digest the content of the bill and make a

decision based on what is best for their constituents, yet many are playing

politics...hoping to vote the opposite way of what they believe because of

political expediency. Its as if the last few weeks the merits of the bill

are not what is in question but who can vote for/against it and still get

re-elected in November.

Hello all.Â I just want to throw out my two cents.Â Right now my son is on

Medicare A B and D as his primary and my Blue Cross as secondary and Medicaid

(HBWD) as his third coverage.Â We are very lucky as he has no medical problems

so he only pays $81.00 for his HBWD a month.Â My husband who is on SSD has

Medicare and my Blue Cross with prescription plan Â has many issues and I only

have my Blue Cross with prescription plan, weÂ have already paid out of pocket

this year for copays $1,000.00 and every year that goes up.Â So if Medicare

coverage is lowered this will impact us, let alone those who have no other

coverage.Â I worry for my son who is going to be 28 and has Down Syndrome and

his future health.Â This scares me.Â Please keep this discussion going as I

just can not understand all the stuff the news is telling me and you all put it

out there so I can understand so thank you for all of your information.
