Guest guest
Margie...no it is not your fault at all. One of the changes to health care should be portability...such that you are responsible for your own coverage and not your employer. Why not have employers give a stipend or government give a tax credit so a family can purchase its own health insurance so that when someone loses a job and gets a new one they can keep their insurance on the plan they choose and not whatever the new employer chooses to give them? Why if you are sick and can't work does your insurance have to lapse? It wouldn't if insurance was not employer-based... As for COBRA, why should it ever run out as it seems a COBRA payment is more than a regular monthly premium??? Why should gov't limit the time on COBRA??? In a message dated 3/21/2010 10:27:05 A.M. Guest guest
What sickens me is that the Senate bill passed on Christmas Eve...nearly 3 months later there are House members who are " undecided " ...even at 2700 pages they should have had time to digest the content of the bill and make a decision based on what is best for their constituents, yet many are playing politics...hoping to vote the opposite way of what they believe because of political expediency. Its as if the last few weeks the merits of the bill are not what is in question but who can vote for/against it and still get re-elected in November. In a message dated 3/21/2010 11:30:52 A.M. Guest guest
Hello all. I just want to throw out my two cents. Right now my son is on Medicare A B and D as his primary and my Blue Cross as secondary and Medicaid (HBWD) as his third coverage. We are very lucky as he has no medical problems so he only pays $81.00 for his HBWD a month. My husband who is on SSD has Medicare and my Blue Cross with prescription plan  has many issues and I only have my Blue Cross with prescription plan, we have already paid out of pocket this year for copays $1,000.00 and every year that goes up. So if Medicare coverage is lowered this will impact us, let alone those who have no other coverage. I worry for my son who is going to be 28 and has Down Syndrome and his future health. This scares me. Please keep this discussion going as I just can not understand all the stuff the news is telling me and you all put it out there so I can understand so thank you for all of your information. Guest guest
The problem with what proposes is that it will never happen. I believe what is currently in the works and what will hopefully pass today is a step in the right direction. I am not naieve enough to believe this will reduce the deficit or that it is perfect by any measure, but idealistically I like to know that my government is more concerned about healthcare than starting wars. In other words, the health care system is badly in need of reform and this is a star. It is not perfect, but it is a start. From: ktbugg <kathyb54hotmail (DOT) com> Subject: Re: Fw: Arc Action Alert Call Today on Health Care Reform IPADDUnite@gro ups.com Date: Friday, March 19, 2010, 7:56 PM You know what, the health care bill plan the administration is trying to shove down our throats will not be like a trip to Oz.
Special abled individuals and elderly will be at the bottom of the list for services. We will not be able to get in to get the treatment needed, if the government plans were so great in other countries why do we have so many Canadians crossing the boarder to get care??? Guest guest
I agree, we have to start somewhere. We keep putting off the health care issue until we reach perfection. It is clearly not going to be perfect we have to take a first step. For those thinking we are rushing this through, the health care agenda has been in front of us in some fashion for 60 years. Nixon proposed ideas in the 70s and Ted kennedy turned them down because they were not broad enough. In later years Kennedy admitted he should have gone with the Nixon proposals. I also agree with Margie, people who don't have or can't get coverage have not chosen that path.

Guest guest
I just wish Obama would be more truthful! I have heard him over and over again claim that this bill will DECREASE the deficit! There is NO way!!! Put the plan out there for what it is - a move in the direction of insuring all, and helping those with pre-existing conditions. Guest guest
The discussion about health care and about federal government legislation is important and we should try to keep up with this...I would welcome all of you to share your information, thoughts and opinions. hit on something that I think we can all agree on...transparency. At the very least, what we need to do is keep asking questions among ourselves and of our leaders and we absolutely must demand from all of our leaders, honesty, integrity and accountability. Guest guest
You are absolutely right , it is 100% politics, and that sickens me too. Nobody gives a darn about anyone, just their vote. From: asachapter145@... <asachapter145@...> Subject: Re: Re: Fw: Arc Action Alert Call Today on Health Care Reform IPADDUnite Date: Sunday, March 21, 2010, 4:39 PM  What sickens me is that the Senate bill passed on Christmas Eve...nearly 3 months later there are House members who are " undecided " . ..even at 2700 pages they should have had time to digest the content of the bill and make a decision based on what is best for their constituents, yet many are playing politics...hoping to vote the opposite way of what they believe because of political expediency. Its as if the last few weeks the merits of the bill are not what is in question but who can vote for/against it and still get re-elected in November. In a message dated 3/21/2010 11:30:52 A.M.
