10th Congressional District

I encourage anyone who lives in the 10th Congressional District to vote for

Hamos, Democrat for Congress. has been an effective legislator and

truly listens to her constituents. She is an advocate for Women's rights and

Individuals with disabilities. As Chair of the Mass Transit Committee, helped

to reform, fund and improve our regional transit system by reaching across the

aisle and working well with Republicans. She has sponsored and authored numerous

bills benefitting Illinois families of all ages.

group so that we can become more educated about the candidates for the various

offices.

I would like to amend my comments on Mark Kirk. Another parent advocate

reminded me of some of the good things that Representative Kirk has done for

people with disabilities and I feel I would be remiss in not mentioning these.

He secured a very large federal grant for an agency in the northwest suburbs as

well as for an agency in the northern suburbs. I am reasonably sure that over

the period of time he served the 10th Congressional District he also secured

additional funds for agencies that serve individuals with disabilities. In

addition, he did meet with other parent advocates, toured agencies and supported

relevant legislation.
