Your Breaking News - Relief Efforts in Haiti

Dear Friends,

As you all know, on January 12, 2010, a series of earthquakes

with magnitudes 6.5 to 7.3 struck Haiti in the highly populated area of

Department Ouest, 10 miles from Port-au-Prince. The American Red Cross reports

that while it is still early, a high number of casualties are expected.

Widespread damage and collapsed buildings have created an urgent need for search

and rescue activities. As many as three million people may be affected.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Haiti as well

as the men and women on the ground risking their lives to help those in need.

Please take a look at the links below to find out ways you can help:

a.. USAID

b.. State Department

c.. American Red Cross

d.. Organization of American States

e.. United Nations

Please feel free to forward this email along to other

interested constituents or post it on your Facebook, Twitter, or MySpace pages.

As always, do not hesitate to contact me at 847-940-0202 or via my Web site

should issues of concern to you come before the Congress.

Sincerely,

Mark Kirk
