Guest guest
Welcome all new IPADD members, Since we¡¦ve had a lot of new members join IPADD recently, let¡¦s please review some basic Etiquette Rules that can help us read and respond to posts more effectively, while retaining the spirit and quality we¡¦ve come to expect from our group. 1. POSTING IDEAS/QUESTIONS/SUPPORT: It¡¦s always helpful to mention what part of the state you live in when posting ideas, information or support questions about your child/family. It will help the members/moderators respond to you accurately. POLITICS: News about political forums, candidate positions, specific bills and advocacy opportunities is encouraged so long as it's geared to the needs of transitioning youth or adults with DDs and is for informational purposes only. No fundraisers on this group, please. PERSONAL OPINION: If you want to share your personal political opinion or philosophy about a topic, PLEASE note ¡¥IMO¡¦ or other words to indicate to readers where fact ends and personal opinion begins. Overtly inflammatory posts or overuse of profanity is not tolerated on IPADD. If, in the opinion of the moderators and List Owner, you cross the line on a post, you¡¦ll be notified via private email of our policies for handling inappropriate posts, which may include deleting inappropriate or offensive messages, putting member on moderated status for a period of time, or banning membership completely. We want our site to be empowering, informative and supportive of all members. WORKSHOPS/TRAININGS: Feel free to post info about trainings geared to the needs of transitioning youth, adults with DDs, & their families/caregivers. Postings are not considered endorsements of the speakers or agendas, but are merely offered for informational purposes. RESOURCES/SERVICES: Anyone can post or upload links for resources, including professionals, providers or businesses who wish to promote their services to the group. Members, please do your homework and make your own decisions. 2. REPLYING TO POSTS PERSONAL MESSAGES: It¡¦s ok to use ¡¥reply to sender¡¦ to send a personal note of support, congratulations, or thanks to one person versus to the whole group. (Ellen, this one¡¦s for you! ƒº) DELETE THE BODY OF THE ORIGINAL POST: Whenever possible, before sending a response to the whole group, take a moment to delete the body of the original post. If there¡¦s one comment you are specifically responding to and you want to make sure we know it, cut and paste that comment into your reply. This helps reading the Daily Digests much easier! IN SUMMARY: IPADD is a collaborative effort -- a statewide, online networking tool -- working toward creative solutions that can make life better for our loved ones, families and communities. Feel free to laugh, share successes and challenges, and vent about frustrations. Because no one of us has all the answers, we urge you to share your expertise, connections and experiences with the rest of the group. Don¡¦t, however, expect that everyone will agree with your opinions or philosophy ¡V we¡¦re a diverse community and everyone needs to make up their own minds about what issues they support, and what action, if any, they are interested in taking We look forward to getting to know more of you in the coming months. If you¡¦re new to the group, please take a moment and introduce yourself to the rest of us. We¡¦re glad you¡¦ve found us and hope you find IPADD a good place to visit.
