Guest guest
Dear Colleagues, We wish to inform you that the Global Human Rights Leadership Training Institute (GHRLTI) is still accepting applications for the 2011 Edition of its Online Advance Certificate Course: Gender and HIV/AIDS, 9th November – 9th December 2011. Please help circulate this announcement. Course Description The course will examine the inter-linkages between gender and HIV/AIDS, explore strategies to mainstreaming gender and HIV/AIDS at policy, programmes and implementation processes. However, there is limited gender conceptual clarity and application skills among key decision makers, practitioners, civil societies and private institutions and the inter-relationship with HIV/AIDS, policy and macro economic issues. These limitations hamper efforts geared towards making gender and HIV/AIDS cross-cutting issues in development policies, programmes and processes. In view of the above, the course on Gender and HIV/AIDS is based on the understanding that: - Gender and sexuality are significant factors in the sexual transmission of HIV and they also influence treatment, care and support. The prevention and management of the spread of HIV/AIDS is inextricably linked to achieving gender equality and women empowerment. For full course outline, you can visit our site at http://www.justicegroup.us/advanced-gender-hiv. Additional Features • Online, interactive, self-paced and self-learning modules. • Assignments to test your knowledge and understanding before and after the test. • Opportunity to post comments, assignment answers, live chat etc. Target Audience The course is aimed at gender focal points, women’s organisations, programs and project managers, researchers, policy-makers, HIV/AIDS activists, women leaders, students, staff of NGOs and CBOs, donor agencies, academics, volunteers, development actors, trainers, journalists, students, government officials etc. Entry Requirement: Students must have a current e-mail account, regular access to and general familiarity with the internet and mobile phones. Candidates should have a good written command of English language and high competence and comfort with computer and internet use. COST The course tuition fee is USD300. There is a limited amount of partial scholarships available for this course for applicants from developing countries and newly independent states, based on financial need. Location: Online Application Procedure The deadline for application is 8th November 2011.
