Guest guest
Hi Everyone! I've been two weeks on a new job and have had no time to contribute to the board. I miss you all. Doing BFL while on the job is a LOT different than keeping the discipline while at home. Thanks everyone for the advice on packaging food etc. Here is wishing you all a VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING. Warmly, Petra > I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday! Stay safe and eat well > > Happy Thanksgiving! > Maggie
Guest guest
Thanks Maggie! We are at my parents' house in New Mexico. I had a free meal for TG dinner which was BBQ and traditional New Mexico beans, green chili and tortillas. I'll have another free meal tonight. This morning I resisted the offer of a breakfast burrito and instead made myself eggs, beans, and green chili. All authorized. I did LB on Tuesday before we left and I am taking the week off lifting until Monday. I will do cardio and abs today. How is everyone else faring this holiday weekend?? Guest guest
Not for me - I am more apt to say no and wish I had the energy I had 10 years ago! I once invited all the girls in Katey's class for her birthday. It was a sleepover and we were making pizzas from scratch. We were new to the area and I doubted anyone would let their children come - they all came and only 2 parents came to the door to meet us! I think after Thanksgiving, many moms will enjoy the break and take advantage of the Black Friday shopping without kids. > > I think I am going crazy though. Do you go crazy when you hit 40? Guest guest
Why would anyone go shopping the day after Thanksgiving? I just dont get it! Well, Thanksgiving was good- my mom actually cooked a turkey and we made the sides and a friend of mine came along and made a pie- so no one person had to do all the work. It was nice- hope everyone had a yummy, peaceful day. PS amanda is planning a post Thanksgiving party with her friends- they all have to wear pink and may come here for a movie and a make over party. Sounds fun!

Maybe when he goes back to school it will disappear... My little vegetarian is doing so well. Yesterday he ate both turkey and ham. Who'd a thunk it? We've been through a four day stretch of on target blood sugars, even though he ate a few cookies yesterday, along with his SF ice cream. Instead of hitting the stores, many specials can be done on-line. I put in a Toys R Us order last night. Got some good deals. Free shipping and some buy-one-get one-free stuff. Guest guest
> > Why would anyone go shopping the day after Thanksgiving? I just dont get it! > Ask Kathy...lol. I'd rather stay away myself on Friday. Katey wanted to go shopping early this morning but she is still asleep...lol. Our dinner turned out good - the turkey was tender, juicy and sweet (I only buy Honeysuckle White). initially did not want to sit at the table with us, but once we said grace, he came running. He only ate mashed potatoes/gravy and pumpkin pie. His medicine is causing him to lose weight now - I gotta get his doctor to change it this week. I went off my diet yesterday but am back on track today. Back to the pumpkin debate....Poor could not find canned pumpkin in Argentina, let alone a pumpkin pie. Mashed pumpkin is a staple food down there and the people at the grocery store told her to just cook a pumpkin...lol. That is way over her head - the girl is smart, but cooking from scratch is not her thing.
