Certificate Course on Gender and Development Training, [18th January – 17th January, 2012]. Course description: The course seeks to examine how gender identities are formed and re-shaped as a result of the development process – and responsive approaches in a variety of historical and cultural contexts. It will empower the participants with tools and sector-specific guidelines for gender mainstreaming in their various institutions and development planning. It will further improve the abilities of participants to reduce gender inequalities in their various homes, organisation and communities. There is a limited number of partial scholarships available for applicants from developing countries, based on financial need. The course also features a number of exercises and reflective activities designed to examine the concepts of gender, gender-based violence, sexuality, and rights. It is intended to give participants an appreciation of the types and quantity of data that project managers require in order to keep a project within the confines of the triple constraints.
