OK I have a question. My son and I suffer badly from sinus headaches. Alot

has to do with where we live and the pressure system etc. Has anyone noticed

or heard of there being an increase with sinus issues while doing DMSA? Kind

of makes sense that if it kicks up other stuff it would with this also.

Inquiring minds want to know :-) Carole

Yes, we had increased sinus drainage during the second round of DMSA. It is

not uncommon with any detoxification. When it became heavy, we used low dose

benadryl but generally it was not a problem. We did not see it on round three.

Ken,

It is really important when detoxification to encourage " the stuff "

out instead of surpressing the symptoms with Benadryl. Also Benadryl

is just another thing the already busy liver needs to process.

Buffered Vitamin C can be helpful easy to give and supports

detoxification.

We have been trained by marketing to do something when we see

symptoms. I too have to do something, I have just learned to give

epsom salts bathes, garlic, echinacea and cod liver just like my

grandma.

You are right Maureen,

The benadryl was my wife's idea and I was fighting against it. I agree with

you completely but sometimes it is hard to explain to the other party what is

really going on. I have to draw the line as to which battles to fight.

Thanks.

Carole,

Sinus drainage can frequently be reduced substantially by 500mg Vitamin C

daily.

Sinus headaches frequently indicate a Magnesium deficiency. I use 200mg to

400mg of Magnesium (with Calcium) to treat sinus headaches.

  • 4 weeks later...

I have not seen any discharge, any nose wiping, etc.(and no increase in the

booger-eating that he has been doing for years! yuck) yet Elliot has the

pink color around his nostrils, that one typically sees with a runny nose.

And he didn't have it before DMSA.
