JOB VACANCY - JOURNALIST FOR PLUSNEWS PORTUGUESE SERVICE

PlusNews-Portuguese is a specialised information service on HIV/AIDS in

Portuguese-speaking African countries. It is part of IRIN/OCHA, the United

Nations humanitarian news agency.

Position: Portuguese-speaking journalist based in the PlusNews/IRIN office in

Johannesburg, South Africa.

Responsibilities: To write, edit and proof-read stories in Portuguese on

HIV/AIDS. To supervise translations from English. To liaise with UN agencies,

NGOs and the media.

Qualifications: An MA in Journalism or equivalent. At least five years of

experience in development reporting. Internet and e-mail skills. Availability to

travel in Africa.
