Guest guest
Kathy, A hot lot is a batch of vaccine that has been associated with large numbers of reports including hospitalizations, injuries and deaths. Since vaccine manufacturers and the FDA will not release the number of doses in each lot to the public, it is not possible to totally, accurately compare the reactivity of one lot to another lot. My son got the chicken pox from his older brother when he was 8 months old. He had a severe case. Actually it was at that point that his immune system went haywire. He got his 6 month immunizations just about a week before his brother's chicken pox. So he had Hib (with mercury), DTP (with more mercury), OPV, and chicken pox exposure all at the same time. After that he was allergic to EVERYTHING. All of the foods that he had ever eaten. Everything in the air. For the next two years he was sick constantly. Other than constant sickness, he developed normally. Then he got a hot lot DTaP at 4 years old and his problems started. After the shot, he regressed and was diagnosed with atypical autism two months later. The DPT vaccine that he got in August 1995 was listed in the CURRENT DPT VACCINE " HOT LOT " LIST published by NVIC in their newsletter in March 1995. My son was given a known (if only to the NVIC) hot lot vaccine about two weeks after Roseola (HHV6).

Guest guest
Hi, Has anyone ordered the autism packet? Do you feel that the $15.00 was worth the information you received?? Guest guest
Listmates, We got the NVIC stuff several years ago. This was just before all this information became available on-line. Is the $15.00 worth it? Well, probably, but not in the way that you are asking. It's worth it because it contributes to a good cause, that is, raising awareness about the dangers of blindly vaccinating EVERY child. You also get newsletters once you send in your money. I have mixed feelings about these. The information contained within is usually great, and leading edge. The PRESENTATION of the information, however, tends to detract from the message. It's very " alarmist " and extreme. I think they are trying to get people's attention, but if you were to take the material to your doctor the way it is written (LOTS of emotion) s/he would probably laugh and say " They are quacks " . Having said that, I must also say that I commend Barbara Loe Fisher for what she is doing. And of course, it is hard NOT to be emotional about this. It was through the information that we received from NVIC that we learned about filing the VAERS form. And also through them that we learned there was a deadline for filing claims after an adverse event brought on by a vaccine. And through them that we made contact with our attorneys, who are experts in the field. And of course, the conference that just took place in DC was put on by the NVIC. So, is the $15 worth it? You bet. And given everything that NVIC is doing, it's probably worth a LOT more. If you've got spare money in your pocket (ha ha) they are definitely a good place to send it to. Guest guest
I just got a moment break - Here is the information: NOTE: I will first give you the information on the particular lot number (308924). The report says that the first 3 numbers indicate a "batch" from which all lots with the same first 3 numbers come from. Let me know if you want to see the page where your son's vaccination is. That way, you can see statistics on all the lots in the batch. You could give me a safe address or P O box to send such to. 308924 DPT Lederle 7/91 to 09/92 Vax dates 56 events 35 Emergency room visits 0 life threatening 7 hospitalizations 0 disabilities 8 with unknown recovery 2 no recovery 2 deaths NOTE: this 308 batch has 15 lot numbers. Many of them have double digit "events" reported. The one following yours had 4 deaths reported. total deaths in the batch was 7. 349907 DPT Lederle 4/93 - 3/94 47 events 21 E/R visits 0 life threat. 6 hospitalizations 0 disab 7 unkn. recov 2 no recovery 4 deaths There were 4 lots in the batch of 349. The others had only 1 event each - but a total of 2 more deaths reported.
