I appreciate all your reply's on the vitamin 'side effects' post I inquired

about. I think it just took me by surprise when I read it. They also wrote

practically the same side effects for the med's they have her on that I am

trying to find out about " outside of the school. " Their doctors do Not work

with the parents, and have been having a fit with me ever since I introduced

'vitamin supplements' into her diet. And then the GF diet.

They will really blow out when they find out I'm going to be doing the

Mercury detox starting the end of next month. I found an Osteopathic

physician here who is going to work with me. I am sure I will have some

questions after the test for you all that I appreciate so much. So far have

been taking notes on how you all are doing it.

I know my daughter is older 24 next month, and complete recovery is out of

the question, but I also feel it will help her in areas I cannot see just

yet.

Thank you again, you are a great group of people. Tricia

Tricia:

I just wanted to say that I think you are a real inspiration to me! My son

is only six, and I am soooo frustrated and stressed out over people that

scoff at me and disagree and tell me I'm wasting my time, money and energy on

treatments for my little guy. How often I have asked myself " When do I throw

in the towel? When do I turn to my son and say... I'm sorry I can't help

you? " Of course, those are the bad days...then he turns to me and smiles and

says " What's a matter, punkin? " and I melt and vow that I will never give up

the fight...

Thank you for never giving up yours!

,

I appreciate your telling me that more than you know.!! When all else has

failed me threw the years, your exactly right, " I look at that smile " and it

grabs me where no one else can!

I will continue every day, after all, she has given me much more than I have

her, and maybe someday she'll say it with more than a smile!

Your a great mommy, don't forget that.

Thank you so so much!

Chris:

I don't want to damper your spirits...maybe it will be better for you than it

was for me...but I saw a Harvard immunologist (at Boston Children's) last

month (waited two months for the appointment). He told me everything was

" normal " INCLUDING Rubella titers that were 90.5 (>9.9=immune)! So his

opinion was " He's immune. " Then I got a newsletter in the mail from the

NVIC, and the Goldenberg's son had " borderline high Rubella titers " . IGIV

sent that little boy on the road to recovery...but not so for my son! This

doctor feels he doesn't need to see us anymore. You need to be well-prepared

for this visit...because the doctor we saw knew EVERY (and that is no

exageration) " theory " concerning autism and vaccinations. His final

statement to me was " Out of all the stories I've heard from parents of

autistic children linking it to vaccines, YOURS is the most convincing, but

the theory just isn't proven. " (My son, who was entering regular Kindergarten

after 4 years of ABA, got his boosters for school and spent from May of 1999

to November of 1999 SCREAMING...and lost 1 1/2 years worth of skills.) BE

PREPARED...THEY DIDN'T GO TO IVY LEAGUE SCHOOLS FOR NOTHING!!!!!!!!

Every individual is unique, one man's medicine is another man's poison - as

the saying goes. I'm amazed (though NOT surprised that a school takes such

interest in health (in particular suppliments)-- (in the form of vitamins!!)

Appears extremelly strange, to me! Every thing we take, can have side

effects the sympyoms your school refers to - i believe can happen with

Vitamin C OVERDOSE - in giving any suppliment it pays(in my humble opinion)

to start with the lowest dose and gradually increse the dosage, in the case

of vitamin C diarrhoea - or any other symptom that might show is an

indication for to lessen the doseage. also i think one should introduce one

suppliment for a period of time, in order to get the dosage right and to

know just how much may be relevant to each individual.

hope this helps.

Best wishes,

Margaret.
