Guest guest
The Cancer Miasm The cancer miasm has two sides emotionally. On one side, you can feel low-spirited and hopeless. It can make you feel like your conditions will never improve. This can sometimes trigger anxiety and even fear especially regarding one's health. You can feel overwhelmed, irritable, a victim of circumstances, and overly serious. On the other side, there is a sort of martyr or manic aspect, that is, you can find yourself taking care of everyone but yourself. You can suddenly feel a burst of energy and clean the house, cabinets, and yes, even the garage. Sometimes this part of the cancer miasm allows you no rest until you catch up on old business such as paperwork or mountains of chores that have accumulated for some time. On the physical side, you may notice more tiredness, achiness, and headaches. Commonly, pains are more predominant with the cancer miasm, that is, sometimes the body simply hurts more. It has an affinity for the digestive tract so there may be stomach or elimination problems. The cancer miasm also has a special craving for ice cream and chocolate! Another good reason to remove the cancer miasm is that it controls the health of one's personal finances. People with strong cancer miasms have " poverty consciousness " , that is, they worry about money as there is never enough of it. They seem to just make it from one paycheck to the next. Once this miasm is removed, these restrictions change as the individual feels more expanded, free, and affluent. Other symptoms of the cancer miasm include: All types of cancers - Stroke - Chronic fatigue syndrome - Whooping cough - Obesity - Confused - Dull - Excessive sense of duty - Sinus & allergy problems - Swollen lymph glands - Cysts & tumors - Chronic cough - Panic attacks - Fear - Sensitive to criticism - Agoraphobia - Low self-esteem - Mononucleosis ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Another great article from: http://www.applehillclinic.com/cancer.html Cancer: Guarantee, or Possibility? April is Cancer month and most of us have family, friends or acquaintances who have had an encounter with cancer. Few things can strike such fear and despair in a person or their family as a diagnosis of cancer. It is generally accepted that cancer is an inherited disease. Homeopathy has long acknowledged the impact of family history on an individual's health. It recognizes the existence of five different sets of inherited pre-dispositions, that everyone has to a greater or lesser extent, that are often referred to as Miasms in homeopathic literature. These are Psora, Tuberculosis, Gonorrhea, Cancer and Syphillis. Individually and collectively these are the source of all of our chronic ailments, whether physical or emotional in nature. And although all five of these miasms are present in every one of us to some degree, we tend to show an affinity to one or two more than the others. Where homeopathy differs from mainstream medicine is in the view that although we may inherit certain pre-dispositions, these are only an indication of potential illness, not a guarantee of it. When treated properly, the impact of such inherited pre-dispositions can be greatly reduced. One such group of inherited pre-dispositions is the Cancer miasm. And although the word cancer evokes images of tumors, they are only one manifestation of the group of symptoms that are covered by this miasm. Some of the mental characteristics of those for whom this inherited pre-disposition dominates are that they have a tendency to internalise their emotions. They may be very passionate people yet they often put their own needs aside (sacrifice themselves and their own best interests) to " help " others and routinely over-extend themselves. This can lead to a deep sense of lack of fulfillment. Another indication of the cancer miasm is a pronounced love of music and of dancing. Naturally, we often will find a past history of cancer in the family, but you may be surprised to know that a history of diabetes also points to this miasm. Some other clinical indications for this inherited pre-disposition include acne, allergies, asthma and bronchitis. Such conditions as chronic fatigue syndrome, colitis and immune deficiency also stem from this miasm, as do PMS and ovarian cysts. Again, it is important to stress that these are just indications of where your pre-dispositions lie and to point out the ways in which you may become ill. With proper treatment these tendencies can be greatly reduced. While the use of homeopathic remedies will certainly address the underlying inherited predispositions, regimen plays a particularly important role in helping maintain your healthy state. There are many different diets and nutritional programs that have been tailor-made for those with a history of cancer in their families, and we are fortunate to have such a wealth of information at our disposal. It is also important to put it all into perspective and remember the role that regimen does play in health. Proper diet, exercise and sufficient rest, along with fresh air and plenty of good quality water are essential for maintaining a balanced state of health. However, regimen cannot cure disease, it can only help in the healing. So, as much as these measures may help improve our overall health and therefore reduce the intensity, or even inhibit the appearance, of symptoms, they do not address the underlying cause of disease, and they cannot remove it. They are an important and essential adjunct to proper homeopathic medical treatment which will, if applied properly, address your miasmic predispositions and help to ensure that they do not play a role in your life.
