Heidi et al,

At the risk of sounding negative, I once met with one of Dr Oleske's

partners about this issue. Dr Oleske conducted a study here in the NYC area,

the results of which were never published, using IVIG with autistic children.

He was very picky with regard to the children they were enrolling in the study,

only those children who were sick frequently and had a certain immune profile.

I wa told my son probably wouldn't meet the criteria, but I decided to meet with

his partner anyway.

When I met this partner, they told me that they had seen many more kids

than Gupta and that they just weren't seeing the results. They went on to

speculate that the child who did so well with Gupta probably wasn't autistic.

I've also heard that the unversity where Gupta is, is no longer conducting any

work with IVIG and autistic children.

Good luck,

Ed

I was under the impression that only one child had " recovered " after IVIG

and that child had had a lot of other therapies as well. Goldenburg's

son. I would be curious to hear of other " recoveries " from IVIG.

Not to mention Ed, the high risk factors involved in a blood product (even

if it is " so called " screened)

My son is definitely autistic yet is making great gains on IVIG. Each kid

responds different but I have a lot of friends with autisitc kids showing

great results with IVIG. I am sure not everyone does but it has definitely

been the best thing I ever did for him.
