I would like to take a stab at answering this. Sugar is truly one of the worst things that cancer patients can consume. Over and over I have seen obligate glycophiles die much more quickly from cancer. If you check the literature on TPN, human cancers grow 4-5 times faster if the formulation contains glucose. Most cancer cell lines grow much faster if their is sugar in the media. It is common knowledge among conventional and alternative researchers that cancer cells metabolize sugar along a lactate pathway rather than a high energy pyruvate route. Some clinics give sugar with chemo under the belief that the tumors will take up the chemo agents faster. I routinely give patients glucose before hyperthermia as part of a strategy to bring down intracellular pH during their session under the radar horn. I can certainly understand why your naturopath has recommended against fruits and vegetables containing sugar. Many clinics and practitioners recommend that you limit fruit consumption to one piece per day.

On the other hand, there are traditions from many lands and many clinics that pigging out on certain fruits and vegetables can cure cancer. These antineoplastic victuals usually are high in color and often high in sugar. These include traditions of eating a couple of kilos a day of beets, of eating blueberries, carrots, raspberries, figs, dates, and certainly grapes. Many other fruits and vegetables contain cancer-preventing and cancer-fighting agents but it is more questionable as to whether their salubrious properties rise to the level of overcoming the sugar, the loose bowels, etc.

Claudio D'Arrigo, an Italian oncologist with US patents for the use of date and pittosporum fruit extracts against cancer told me that it is his believe that EVERY plant contains both cancer-promoting and cancer-fighting properties. I generally am not that fond of sweeping statements, but I can't prove him wrong.

The bottom line is that you need to have a coherent strategy. This may include massive amounts of sweet fruits and vegetables, moderate amounts, or even none. Normally when I work with most cancer patients I recommend the low moderate amounts, unless going for a saccharic acid type differentiation therapy, and then I often include very high amounts of carrot juice. If I am working with an ex-alcoholic or someone who just can't get away from sugar, I let them indulge by building the therapy around a low pH Cone strategy.

carrot juice

We are always warned about no sugar for cancer. However, carrot juice contains a lot of sugar and is highly recommended. I would like to know why the sugar in carrot juice is acceptable. I never thought about this until a naturopath advised against carrot juice. Any information on this? Mildred
