Guest guest
Just a question. If mercury inhibits the enzyme for casein, after chelation does this get better? Wondering if the GFCF diet will eventually not be necessary? Barb
Guest guest
According to Amy Holmes MD, yes it can get better. She is a DAN DR. in Baton Rouge and also a parent who has been chelating a number of autistic children. Lyn [ ] After chelation--will GFCF diet be necessary? Just a question. Guest guest
Lyn or Amy, Can you be more specific? Are there cases whereby the child was able to go back to a normal diet after chelation? I've been wondering about this myself. Thanks, KB, Calif [ ] After chelation--will GFCF diet be necessary? Just a question. I certainly am more able to tolerate milk and wheat than I could when I was sicker. I never followed a GF/CF diet but did have to limit wheat and dairy. Hopefully others more in the know will chime in soon. I have heard of cases on this list where (a diagnosis of) Celiac's was triggered by metal poisoning and became asymptomatic with chelation. Thanks. Guest guest
Our son was able to eat yogurt on the SCD diet. About round 225, he was able to eat wheat occasionally. After round 250, he is eating gluten and casein without problems--no enzymes.

But for most people, I assume the answer is that they only need to chelate once if they get it right the first time -- unless they are later re-exposed to metal poisoning. Chelation and several supplements eliminated a few anaphylactic allergies here. Also, I know three celiac families who were able to eat gluten again after chelation. Coal-burning power plants nearby, seafood and vaccines along with environmental accidents put mercury back into your system slowly over time.
