Hi everybody,

first a big thanks for all your helpfull answers.

and I have a new question:

the other day my little boy (almost 4 month) had a very red and

swollen eye. the next day it was gone again. does any of you have any

experience with this? maybe it was nothing to be worried about, but I

could see that it was irritating him.

thanks again.

My best whishes to all.

Hi Sylvester,

It doesn't sound like anything specifically BPES related so is

likely to have a common childhood cause and I wonder if maybe he got

a little bit of dust or grit in it or it might be allergic. With

all this hot weather Abbie often has red itchy eyes and rubs them -

I think she has got hayfever as we have lots of allergies in the

family. Do you have pets? I'm allergic to cats and my eye swelled

really badly once when I got a cat hair in it.

If it went on for longer it might be infected (conjunctivitis).

This can be viral or bacterial in which case antibiotic drops would

help. It will irritate whether it is allergic or infected but if

infected they often get increased yellow discharge and starts with

one eye then spreads to both. I say increased because Abbie always

gets lots of discharge and often her lashes stick together when she

sleeps, I don't know if others find this a problem?

Anyway as it went away so quickly I don't think it is anything to

worry about.

Take care,

Leah
