Guest guest
My personal opinion having (3) kids who have had these surgeries. I would never do both at once. I for one think the outcome wouldn't be as good. I also go to Dr. Maher and trust her 200% and know that if she isn't sure on something she will research til days end to make sure she is doing the right thing. Guest guest
My daughter is 5 and had PART I of the surgery, which wa the transnasal wiring done in April of this year - she is healing wonderfully - only see a bit of scar tissue now --- IF we go ahead with PART II - the lid lift that will be in the Spring of 2007. Our physicians at the Children's Hospital in Boston, MA told us that doing the 2 separate surgeries allows the wound to heal better than doing both at once...and sometimes after the first procedure, you might NOT need to have the 2nd procedure depening on the severity of the BPES. Do it ONE STEP AT A TIME, see what the results are of the 1st surgery and then move on to the next if you have to. Hope this helps. - Jen Scopp
