Hi all,Firstly, We hope you all had a great xmas, and will have a safe new year:)Our son Ethan, aged 4 come Jan 07 (wearing pumpkin suit @ pics)had a check up a few weeks ago....They found he has an astigmatism, caused from the eyelids pressing on his eye. An astigmatism is when the eyeball is shaped like a rugby ball instead of a soccor ball, it is causing blurred vision, so he has to wear glasses! But gosh he looks SO cute in them...he looks like that cute wee blonde boy from *Jerry Maguire* thats what everyone says:) We have another appt in February to make sure his vision is doing ok, then we will discuss having his first surgery...scarey:( but having the surgery may reverse the astigmatism and he may not need the glasses afterwards, so that will be worth it. Not to mention he does start school that next year, so it would be good to have it before he starts school...Apart from all that he is doing great! He has taken really well to wearing his glasses, and I have noticed that we are not getting as many stares at him....I think people see the glasses but don't take that second look now...so that was one positive thing for getting them:)Leanne and family, Christchurch, New Zealand
