Guest guest
Hi Donna, My son, Keaton, also had surgery with Dr. Pashby and he's a great person. Keaton's most recent surgery was done by a different doctor by our choice but when Keaton has to have his more 'serious' surgery - craniofacial and additional eye surgery we'll have that at Sick Kids in Toronto with Dr. Pashby doing the eye stuff as he's worked closely with Dr. Forrester, the cranio facial plastic surgeon. Having a list of questions prepared and written in advance is a great idea. I remember Dr. Pashby always taking the time to answer my questions. In fact, I created our 'medical' book for the entire family which is a running journal of all the different doctor visits, specialist or day to day illness, surgery dates, medications, etc. Copies of eye prescriptions, test results, correspondence, health cards, doctor business cards, pictures, etc. My husband has even bought into the concept and knows to take it to ANY doctor appointment and it's proven very useful as you forget information from one appointment to the next especially over time and the number of appointments we have. One suggestion for your appointment with Dr. Pashby is to be prepared for a 1-2 hour wait as he has a number of patients and appointment times blend into one another. Snacks, toys, books, DVD players are highly recommended. Donna - my contact information is below so please feel free to call me if you would like to meet in person or to meet my sons. I know it can be difficult away from home and I don't know if you know anyone in the Toronto area. Good luck.
