Welcome back, Jo!

[ ] Back Again

> Hi!

> My name is Jo-Anne, but most people call me Jo. I was a member of

this group for a while, but left because I was spending too much time at the

computer.

> I've rejoined because I stopped taking Prednisone in late June

(tapered off) and am finding myself with a whole new list of challenges. I

remember so many names from the list, so feel I am back with friends again.

  • 5 years later...

Hi everybody. Well i have just got back online after computer probs

and visiting the group i cant believe howm much it has grown in such a

short time. My son Ethan (not the one in the pumkin suit but the other

one) has turned 7 this year and hes doing well. So far his eyesight is

ok.. not 100% but not bad enough to need need glasses. He still has

the all over low muscle tone still preventing him from being toilet

trained which is VERY frustrating. Hes been through the bullying thing

at school lateltly which had me up at the school jumping up and down.

I approached the child in question(who i might add has behavioural

issues and is seeing a school social worker) and asked him nicely to

please not hit and kick Ethan because it isnt a nice thing to do and

his response blew me away. he said 'My mum said Ethans a handicap and

i dont have to be nice to him " My reaction was ' Well maybe your

mother needs educating then " How to respond to a child like that and

his mother??? Luckily Ethans teacher aide stepped in quick and decided

to follow this other child around at lunchtime to keep Ethan safe as

his bullying was very violent and the school, despite the policy of

zero tolerance to bullying just dont care less. I would love to hear

from anyone else who has had to put up with this and how they dealt

with it. Hope you are all well and happy.

Hi Leah,

Great your'e back on the site. I'd just like to say Wow - that

reaction from that child is shocking - I'm appalled! Poor Ethan.

I've often thought (and mentioned before) that a lot of bullying and

intolerance stems from inappropriate management by parents and that

just takes the biscuit doesn't it! Anyway best of luck for dealing

with the school in future.

Best wishes,

Other Leah (mum of Abbie)
