They are Ptosis ---------- has 117 members, founded in 2000 Ptosiskids ------------ Description on the group site: This group was created to gather parents and families of children with 'Congenital Ptosis'. Congenital ptosis is also characterized as droopy eyelid. The droopy eyelid can be caused by weakness in the eye muscles that control lid movement. In severe cases, a child may have to tilt their head back in order to see straight ahead. The group is here to exchange personal experience, offer advice, support and share photos of our beautiful kids. This group has been set up to support families of children with congenital ptosis. Ptosis is a defect in the development of the muscle which raises the eye lid. It can be found in one or both eyes. It is more commonly known as a droopy eyelid. Ptosis is largely classed as a cosmetic problem but in some cases vision on the affected side can be reduced. The only cure for ptosis is surgery. Children with ptosis may tilt their head backwards in order to see better. The group is here to offer support, advice, share personal experiences and photos of our lovely children pre and post op.
