Guest guest
Good letter for Postal Workers who may have to take the Anthrax Vaccine in future. Good one to copy and give to our own local Postal workers. Maureen Letter to Postal Worker's Union president I will be sending the following letter in the morning. Mr. 's fax does not answer now. Jim December 27, 2001 Postal Workers New York Metro , President 350 West 31st Street, 5th Floor New York, NY 10001 Dear Mr. , I read with great interest the article in the New York Times, which quoted you as recommending your union members not take the anthrax vaccine. That was a wise decision. I am a free lance journalist. I have spent numerous hours researching the vaccine issue and have written several articles on the subject. On October 23rd of this year Kingsbury from the General Accounting Office (GAO) testified on Anthrax Vaccine before the House Subcommittee on National Security, Veterans’ Affairs, and International Relations Committee on Government Reform. Her testimony has been released as report GAO-02-181T . She disclosed several very important facts the GAO found in its investigation. The vaccine maker, first the State of Michigan and since 1998, Bioport, and the Pentagon have withheld vital information from the FDA and the CDC. In 1990, the Michigan lab made significant changes to its process for making the vaccine. The changes increased the potency of the vaccine up to 100 times what it had been. The Pentagon (Army) realized the change almost immediately but did nothing about it. The FDA and CDC claim they were unaware of this until told by the GAO this year. Nevertheless, the CDC peddles data that applies to tests made with the earlier vaccine prior to 1970. The army never kept track of the military who received the vaccine so they have no statistics as to the reactions to the vaccine. However, the GAO did a comprehensive survey of over 2,000 in the military who took the vaccine. They found that 25% had suffered " systemic " reactions, that is more than just temporary aches, pains or swelling. Government flacks are advising potential recipients of the vaccine that less than one in 100,000 suffered severe effects. By " severe " they must mean deaths, because that is close to the ratio that has happened with the increased potency. Literally thousands of veterans have been partially or totally disabled as a result of being forced to take the vaccine without being advised of any consequences. You are right when you say the government wants to experiment on your workers. They need to have data if they are ever going to get the vaccine out of the " experimental " or " investigational " category. Again I applaud you for your informed decision and hope you will communication your concerns to leaders of the other postal unions who may not be as well informed. Sincerely, Jim Rarey Romulus, MI Fax or phone (734) 942-7667 E-mail jimrarey@...
