Candida imposes a huge toxin load, and perhaps more importantly, the bowel dysbiosis that you are guaranteed to have along with the candida imposes an even larger toxin load than that. Everyone, I'd get to the inulin and maybe probiotics and restore bowel flora ASAP, as some of the unwanted bacteria can cause crohn's, colitis, irritable bowel, and even bowel perforation and peritonitis, which is fatal. Of all the things we discuss on-list, inulin is the cheapest and probably the most important. Duncan Crow
Guest guest
Getting ourselves to a proper balance of the right foods, and the right mindset is not easy task, but it can be done. Atkins has helped with in numerous ways with a healthy food plan that I can do for Life... and I am also reading Dr. Phil's new book... The Ultimate Weight Loss Solution to get the " right mindset " . Many of us stumbling blocks such as emotional eating.... environments that tempt us to eat when we are not hungry, etc. With these two approaches... and learning all that I can about this disorder and my body I know I will reach my goals of being healthy and maintaining a healthy weight! It is all about taking control back over your life. Dabs Healing1003@... wrote: >I couldn't agree more about the POSITIVE attitude. I was doing great! No >soda, sweets in 3 weeks. Guest guest
Chapter 25 - Yeast Reactions in his book titled: Dr. Atkin's New Diet Revolution. Food allergies/food intolerance's can go hand in hand with Candidiasis.... but also high carb foods can cause cravings. I was like an alcoholic with milk... I loved my milk...had to have my milk... lots of milk. Well... I am allergic to milk... and we crave what we are allergic to... it is like an addiction... is an addiction. You get your temporary " fix " and you feel better... like a drug high... only to come crashing down and then you feel worse and the craving starts all over again. The purpose of the first Phase of Atkins - Induction is to de-tox your body of the carbs and cravings. If you have been eating a high carb, sugary diet the withdrawal symptoms are worst, but it can be done... and well worth it. Guest guest
Basically you follow the plan avoiding all types of sugar, even artificial sweeteners though Stevia seems to be fine. Avoid yeast and mold containing foods, beer, mushrooms, vinegar, soy sauce, fermented condiments, things like sauerkraut, sour cream, peanuts, cashews, brazil, pistachios and a few more... these contain higher amounts of mold... smoked and cured foods...wine and alcohol. I eat nitrate free bacon on occasions... I have macadamias, pecans, almonds and hazelnuts for my nuts. I make nut butter... very easy with a blender or food processor. I eat all meats and fish... though I was having allergic reactions to shrimp... I no longer do and can eat it again. I eat salads and veggies, eggs, cream cheese, mozzarella and heavy cream... I eat very well and can taste the natural sweetness in foods like carrots and tomatoes for the first time ever in my life. Food has flavor! I am shopping more and more at organic health food stores, but many of the chain grocery stores are now selling some organic products. I do think stress can add to the problem... it sure does with IBS! With learning about your body, supplements (the amounts taken should diminish over time) and a proper healthy diet... the Candidia... the food allergies... etc. can be greatly relieved and under control giving a person their Life back. Guest guest
I don't know anything about the South Beach diet... I did hear it was similar. As far as your body... everyone is different. My sister has IBS also but she can't eat certain things and I can... and vise versa. You have to learn what you body is telling you... allergies... reactions to food... being over weight... disorders... disease (dis-ease).... are all ways of it trying to get your attention. It is work, but aren't you worth it!?! Dabs Healing1003@... wrote: >Dabs, > >I'm going to dig out my Atkins book and give it another chance. Also my >doctor put me one SouthBeach diet. Is it similar? Guest guest
You are more than welcome! I can share what has worked... or not for me.... and by doing so I hope that it helps others find what works for them. At the very least... it is a starting place... Guest guest
I also want to add that any de-tox can be difficult... if a person finds that Atkins Induction for example... is too hard on them... I have known people to go to Phase 2 first... let their body de-tox at a slower rate and then go back to Induction when they feel they are ready. It is all a matter of knowing your mindset, your body and your goals. Dabs
Guest guest
Tammy, Just take a day by day, I'm sorry to hear about you Dad. It sucks being in the " sandwhich generation " now. Try to do better each day, take little steps, someone mentioned the south bveach diet as helping with candida, it's in Redbook this month and has a full meal plan. This might help you stay on track if you can just see it on a page. I'm actually doing it but you'renot going to cure it in a day so just do what you can, get the Threelac and Complete Thymic Formula. This helps alot!! Hi everyone I am new to this. I am a nurse and I have a soon to be 1 year old neice with BPES. We all live in Manitoba Canada and are looking for a reliable surgeon in Canada to consult with. If any of you have any names that you could pass on that would be wonderful. We would also consider going to the USA so American surgeons would be helpful as well. Thank you for your time.
