Can someone please tell me what this is > procedure is? The medial canthoplasty is quite common, maybe much more common than trans-nasal wiring (not that there's anything BPEI-related that's ever 'common'!). It does two things: 1. Addresses the blepharophimosis (the 'B' in BPEI) by extending the eye openings inwards towards the nose. 2. Addresses the epicanthus inversus (the 'EI' in BPEI) by rearranging (reversing?) the folds of skin there. After nearly 40 years [i must have had it done a number of years before I was born, right? ;-)], my medial canthoplasty is holding up even better than the ptosis sling. Scarring has never bothered me, and I've seen others with much less scarring than mine. A Google search for 'canthoplasty' and " jumping man " will turn up info and pictures.
