Guest guest
Tawny honey, my friend Tammy has discoid lupus, she gets these round patches that are like big sores. I don't think she's had much scarring at all, she is native american and has this gorgeous caramel colour to her skin, it seems that a lot of the times she gets the patches on her face for some reason. She doesn't wear hardly any makeup at all either, so you would see if she did have scars. I have weird dark patches like the butterfly rash,(both cheeks & bridge of nose) only brown, on my face, they get worse if they increase my pred. but my family we get brown rather than red skin involvement. Only time I get a red rash all over if I am out in direct sunlight for very long at all, do you do that? It makes me real sick, so I have like 200.00 a month light bills for my tiny apartment, I stay indoors all summer. Love jane > At the jaw area, I notice some scarring. Guest guest
Jane, It could be the meds too. I am not in the sun very much at all, so not sure. My face is red all the time, I don't even have to be in the sun. I just thought it was the lupus. I will talk to my doctor next time, maybe its time to see a dermatologist. Thanks, Tawny > > At the jaw area, I notice some scarring. With my face, its always > red, > > which is probably the Lupus. Does the Lupus cause scarring? Guest guest
I feel so sorry for the children whose surgery has left them with noticeable scarring. I myself had to live through the emotional pain that the scars in the corners of my eyes brought. My devoted parents even sent me to stage school!! can you imagine what that was like? When I was offered TV work which wasn't often it usually involved me dressing as an animal for kids tv or crowd scenes where I couldn't be seen. Hence I grew up with low self-esteem and poor self-image. I finally had plastic surgery when school days were nearly over and the damage done however, what a difference! It was after this that I actually started to enjoy the way I looked which naturally gave me more confidence. Sadly I'll never forget that awkward little girl afraid to look at people's faces for fear of insensitive comments or questions.
Guest guest
Hi you can also have ultrasound therapy which softens fibrosis, it will give more elasticity to the scar. Good Bless you Stella
Guest guest
Hi You can also have ultrasound therapy which softens fibrosis, it will give more elasticity to the scar. You can use a water soluble serum with DMAE in combination with the US therapy. Good Bless you Stella VGammill <vgammill@...> wrote: > > At 08:40 AM 5/20/2009, Pam wrote: > > > After that I did 6 weeks of hyperbaric treatments while dealing > > with a wound vac on my bottom.
