Hi My daughter Holly aged 21 months had the first 'temporary' slings put in a month ago. She is due the 'permanent' slings using ligament from her leg when she is aged approx 4 years, because they need the leg to be long enough. This is usual practice in the UK because using the leg ligament means the lift on the eyes should last for life and should not need re-doing. Another operation is scheduled when Holly is aged 3 to operate on the 'epicanthus inversus' part of the syndrome which means pulling the skin down towards the nose so you will be able to see the tear ducts. Hope all of that made sense - I am a novice so someone correct me if I am wrong!! Thanks Lucy (Hampshire, UK)erin_lawrence83 <erin_lawrence83@...> wrote: I have a three year old daughter and she was born with bleps. She had her first op when she was 8 months. Hi ,

my name is Ally and I'm from Mornington in Vic.I moved to the gold coast nearly 2 years ago.I myself and 2 of my 4 children have bleph.I'm 39 and my 2 boys with bleph are 17 and 8.My 17 year old had slings put in when he was 13 they were 2 tendions taken from his left inner arm between his wrist and elbow. Our surgeon is Cleeland she works at a few hospitals but we see her at the Royal Childrens Hospital in Melbourne. My 17 year old son and myself had our 1st opps at the age of 2 and my 8 year old son had his 1st opp at the age of 4.My husband and I also worried about our boys opps and we got a second opinion which had the same outcome as the 1st.We felt better after getting the second opinion, and stayed with our surgeon

..All the best to you and your family.
