Hi Lene / (Capri)

I tried to post last week but my email has been stopped which

prevents postings so I've had to register a new email. Anyway, I

tried to explain to capri (don't know your real name) last week that

I have been advised to take HRT although I was told that pregnancy

may be prevented with HRT but this is very unlikely for me anyway.

There are many reasons to take HRT in addition to helping to protect

bones.

Lene, I also had irregular periods since I started them when I was

11 yrs but never knew there was anything called POF until November

last year when reading this site. Anyway I took as much information

to my GP as I could and he referred me to a women's health clinic

and after months of waiting for a period after coming off

contraceptive pills as the hormone levels cannot be detected on

these, they did the blood tests without being on the 3rd and 21st

day of a period. I was off the scale of the production of the

hormone that the brain releases to release an egg, meaning I am not

releasing eggs and there unsure for how long this may have gone on

for because I have been on contraceptive pills for 10 years and

regular periods happen on that and you think everything is fine when

its not. I have had a few months for all this to sink in. I hope

to have children in the future through IVF, I am 29 years old and

trying to get on with life and enjoy life with my husband. I've

just been on holiday twice, to a wedding in Cyprus and also went to

New York last week with my husband and his friends, what a fabulous

city, I went when I was a student in 1998 but it was better this

time, I could afford to buy more.

I will start taking HRT soon as I think its for the best and

although my bone scan came back fine, I feel HRT will have many

other benefits and it can't be healthy not producing enough hormone

levels as such a young age. thats my opinion anyway, Take care,

sarah d please ask any questions, I don't mind.
