Guest guest
Hiello to all of you, It seems that our granddaughter (2 years 3 months) is having a cold more often as the other children in Kindergarten. We can not remember that her father, our son (having blepharophimoses was) so often having a cold as she has. Is there anyone in the group having the same experience or is it just a coincidence? Wishing you all a fine day an best regards from a sunny and warm Holland, Dolph Heidemanajheideman@...http://members.lycos.nl/dolphheideman/index-nl.html (nederlands)http://members.lycos.nl/dolphheideman/index-d.html (deutsch)

Guest guest
Hi Dolph Yes, I feel that colds and flu in our toddlers are a result of being in nursery rather than being related to BPES. Having said that, my daughter, Kirsten had chronic ear infections and was also hositalised twice for bronchiolitis, has had 2 sets of grommets and now has a chronic perforation of one of her ear drums. All of this up until the age of 3. She also has problems with her soft palate, resulting in regurgitation of saliva into her eustation tubes which make her prone to ear infections. Her nose was always running. She has been in nursery since she was 5 months old. She has outgrown all of this and is now a very healthy kid. I say, hang in there. The kids all share toys which they always have in their mouths, they don't cover their mouths when they cough, their mucous drips or gets wiped on all sorts of places. Its just part of nursery and gets their immune system going. I hope has a healthy and happy summer. Guest guest
Feeling alittle guilty now about not responding to your question. My daughter is now 12, and I don't recall an exessive amount of cold symptoms. She did, however, have many ear infections, but never required tubes. She was also our first child, and stayed at home with me, so she wasn't exposed to many people. Hope I helped some - I feel better now for answering."A.J. Guest guest
Don't feel too bad. Not all (or even many?) of the 473 people here check the posts regularly, so not everyone will have even seen your question. When I first read it, I thought it asked something like " who else also has this problem? " , which perhaps only folks who share that problem ware likely to respond to. In that light, perhaps it means that 471 people don't have that problem. I certainly haven't come across much discussion or information about any links twixt BPES and colds. There might be an indirect link, as some BPES-enhanced folks have tear-duct problems, and tear-ducts are connected to the vague region where colds form, but that's drawing a long bow. The forum provides a way for people to raise surveys like this one (look for the 'polls' link), and that might be a better way to ask something like this. (I think it's a pretty interesting question, actually, by the way) After all, I'm kind of glad my mail box doesn't contain 473 separate posts all saying " No. " , " Nope. " , " Nah. " , " Not really " , " Go fish " , etc... ;-) Rob W Ahhh-chooo from rainy (for a change) and miserable Sydney. On Fri, 2006-07-14 at 17:56 +0200, A.J. Guest guest
Rob, you're great : O so funny all the time. Anyway Dolph, my suspicion is also likely that it's due to 's interaction with other kids... Kids without BPES generally also tend to catch more coughs and colds once they start attending preschool or nursery. Guest guest
No not everyone does. Cranial Tech does progress photos because up until a few months ago, they had no scanners. I'm not sure if they will continue with that in the long run now that they do have the DSi. Typically if you have a scan, you really don't need the photos because the scan shows more detail. HTH!
