Guest guest
Hi Richie and ph Welcome to the group. Your mail was not long or boring. My name is Joyce, I have 2 daughters with BPES one is 12 Mayowa and the other is Tina 8. They got it from their dad's side of the family. It started with grandpa, 2 uncles plus their dad, 1 aunt. They 2 other female cousins that have it. Both my girls have now undergone surgery (Feb. 06) The only ones in the family to seek info about the condition and do something about it. The op is still settling, done at moorfields in London. (Photos under M) No recent photos posted yet. I don't know how much you know about BPES, but from reading the messages on this site you might have picked up on the infertility issues that could affect females. My question to you is, have any of the women in your family with BPES been affected by infertility or primary ovarian failure? Hope you don't think I am too forward. Kind regards Joyce
Guest guest
Joyce Many thanks for your response to my 1st post. I don't think you are being too forward. As I always say, If you don't ask, you don't get!!!!! I am sure that the operations will be a success, as my wife (Rhona) who works in an Ophthalmology Department has told me that the staff and facilities there are second to none. As for the affects of BPES in females in our family, I can only tell you what I discussed with my sister last night. I had never thought of it before but my 2 aunties that have it do not have children, and my sister explained to me that it is for the same reason that she does not. I have not delved any deeper as it is a deeply personal subject, but my sister is interested in joining this group. As fo my aunties, they are of the ilk that there is no problem, and talking to them about it would only cause anger in them. I think this is because they have never had a chance to talk about it, and noe they are both in their 60's so they see no need to. I hope this is enough info, and that you understand why I cannot give you anymore. Take care Richie > > Hi Richie and ph > > Welcome to the group. > > Your mail was not long or boring. > > My name is Joyce, I have 2 daughters with BPES one is 12 Mayowa and the > other is Tina 8.
