A Burn

I very much enjoy hearing the experiences of others. Thought I would share

mine. Would you believe that just yesterday I managed to burn my finger

while taking a turkey out of the oven? I'm still wondering if subconsciously

I wanted to test this warm water theory and also try lavender on burns.

Anyway, it was one of those burns that is very minor. It was just a quick

touch to the oven grill. The first thing I did was run cold water on it and

then I thought just for fun (and to cover all my bases) I'll run some

lukewarm water on it too. I couldn't quite make myself use hot water, but

figured lukewarm would be enough to increase circulation if indeed that is

one of the benefits to warm/hot water. Plus I reasoned that even lukewarm

water was cooler than the actual burn so that I would still be reducing the

temp at the burn site. Can't say that I noticed any difference in how the

burn felt with either the cold or the warm water. I didn't leave the finger

under the water for long though because I was anxious to get the essential

oil lavender on it.

So I put two drops of lavender oil on the burn and immediately felt a sense

of relief, but then within seconds the burn sensation returned. However,

within minutes I forgot about the burn and went on with my day and the next

time I thought about it - it didn't hurt. One day later, I can't even see a

mark where the burn occurred and still no pain.

We were just tlaking about this on the vaccinations list and I told them

the same - use as hot as can stand.

Well, burned the end of my index finger today on the woodstove with a party

of people here! Wow - it was intense. Ran to the kitchen as my friend

said - run it under cold water. I said, no,hot water - she said what? I

said its homeopathic. Actually put it in a cup of as hot of water as I

could stand. The end is still sensitve but no blister and nothing like it

would have been!

Thank you for passing this great information on to us. has

been one of my past students from my beginner courses in homeopathy. She

heard me speak of this in a past posting as well as in a First Aid &

Emergency Class that I taught in 1995 in Canonsburg, PA at Bond Chiropractic

A Burn

Hi Phyllis,

Thank you.

On Christmas Day, I burned the sides of two fingers of my right hand while

pulling a hot casserole from the oven. At first, I put cold running water on

them , then remembered your e-mail a while back on using hot water.... as

hot as you can stand it on a burn. (Like cures like), After the cold water,

(only a minute or so, it was still hurting and stinging badly, but after

using hot water, it barely stung after I stopped the hot water and the pain

went away completely within a minute or two.. I then put Vitamin E on it

and forgot about it as I finished preparing Christmas dinner. I didn't

think about the burn until the next day and all I saw was a slightly red

patch on both fingers.....no blisters....... and a few days after that, you

could not tell I even had a burn. Thank you so much. That is the first

time I tried " your remedy " and will never forget it. IT WORKS!!!!

Happy New Year,
