Okay friends, Send those wonderful words that you always have my way. Malenah is due for her surgery April 12th. I'm scared and nervous. I'm worried how she'll do right after the surgery, on that day. She is 2 1/2. My sweet girl. We have told her, as best we could with a 2 year old , what was going to happen and try to prepare her for whats about to happen. Oh, it's the silicone rod surgery, I should have mentioned that right away. She has a home care speech therapist that comes in twice a month, she's doing an awesome thing for Lenah, she is getting photos of the operation room, of the Dr., that sort of thing, and making a book for Lenah. Her therapist said i could read it to her every night to help prepare her for her big day. and i said, "yeah, and then i can take it to bed and read it to myself every night to prepare me for the big day!" . I've shared with you, that i have a mild form of cerebral palsy. My Mom would always say she didn't know if it was harder on me or on her when i went in for leg surgeries. I kinda knew what she meant then, of course, but I really know now. Prayers for this "mushy Mom" would be so welcomed. and for our sweet girl, especially for our sweet girl !

Praying for you and Malenah! She'll do great! It is

always much harder on mommy. Although I was not with

Micah during his eye surgery, I have been through two

dental surgeries with him when they put him under and

it was very hard (on me- LOL!)

Please let us know how she does! I know it will be

fine.

Hugs,

April

Hi

If it’s any help I was about 2 ½ when

I had my surgery (25 years ago!!).  I remember having the bandages on after my

surgery.  I ate loads of animal crackers and riding on the rocking horse at the

hospital.  Nothing bad.

Best of luck.
