I just recently signed up as a consultant with Kay to help pull together funds for my daughter's first surgery. According to our health insurance carrier they will only pay 60% of the cost for surgery and I will have to come up with the other 40% -- all because I want to use Boston Children's Hospital which is out of their " network " versus some local MD who has performed this type of surgery maybe once or twice in his career. Ridiculous isn't it? I'm a single mom now, with 2 growing girls, working a full time job and now having to take on another position to help keep us afloat so to speak. Who ever said life was easy?
