Guest guest
For Immediate Release Monday, February 28, 2000 Mangieri to Pentagon: “Let’s Do the Ultimate Test” “We’d be derelict in our duty to not protect the troops!” Bio-warfare expert Challenges Pentagon Officials to test the Anthrax vaccine’s effectiveness in a “live” Anthrax chamber Contact: Bill Mangieri- WFMCo@... New York City-Anthrax vaccine protester former TSgt. Bill Mangieri has posed a challenge to the Pentagon today that will put an end to the Anthrax vaccine controversy once and for all. Mangieri will accompany top DoD proponents of the vaccine, such as SecDef Cohen, Army Surgeon General LTG Blanck, Anthrax Director MG Randall West, and Asst. SecDef for Health Affairs Dr. Sue into a “live” inhalational Anthrax chamber at Ft. Detrick, land. The Gulf War veteran and chemical warfare specialist will be unvaccinated, but will wear a protective mask and suit. The DOD contingent will be fully protected since they have received the full Anthrax vaccine protocol. This challenge may seem risky to the common American citizen, but certainly not unusual to the tens of thousands of military chemical warfare specialists who have completed “live” nerve agent training at the U.S. Army Chemical School. The school subjects Servicemembers to deadly liquid nerve agents such as Sarin that was used in the Tokyo subway attack. The students wear a protective gas mask and suit in the chamber to shield themselves from the deadly vapors. These protective ensembles will protect military members from all known chemical and biological agents including Anthrax. Dr. Sue of the Pentagon said in an August 1998 press briefing that, “this vaccine is thought at this point to be effective against all the strains (anthrax) we know about.” The vaccine was approved in 1970 to protect woolsorters and farm workers from what is called skin born Anthrax. DoD officials should be confident that an aerosol challenge of Anthrax, without protective gear, is not a problem, since they maintain that this vaccine is effective against all strains of the disease. Mangieri says if all top DOD officials survive the chamber he will personally take the shot and encourage others to as well. http://www.MajorBates.com
