Guest guest
Hi Jen, as far as I know if the vision of the eyes are not impaired the operation can be left to about 4-5. That was in our case anyway. Just keep doing what your doing, your doing excellent. Dr Mare (wrong spelling sorry) did a wonderful job that is still holding at age 3.75. She was at NY Eye and Ear hospital on E. 14th St. Her phone is 212 9794575. In her opinion we should wait as long as possible to due further surgery if at all. I don't think she thinks of the emotional component but as a surgeon she feels that the more growth a child has the better the surgery. It is so hard to make these decisions for our little ones. Best of luck. and Aedan Talk is cheap. Use Messenger to make PC-to-Phone calls. Great rates starting at 1¢/min.
Guest guest
I LOVE DR MAHER ! :-) she has done all my kids surgeries. She is tryuly caring, thinking of what is best for each and every child, always thinking ahead, she makes sure scares are as minimal as possible and takes their feelings into everything she does. I had to call her last week at 2 30 am ...she called back in 6 minutes...and spent almost 1/2 hr on the phone with me. Tommy scratched his cornea again due to dry eyes of course that was the night we forgot to put the gelin. ugggg ! Just wanted to say how awesome I think she is. The staff at Ny Eye and ear has been exactly the same people for 14 years ! I know them all personally ...If you mention my kids on the floor they all can tell you they know them. They truly care. Awesome people.Sharon rainamint@... wrote: Hello Jen I live in NYC and my son Aedan needed his ptosis corrected in order to develop vision. He had his surgery and 10 weeks of age. Guest guest
Sharon My thoughts on Dr Maher are the same as yours. Where do you and your family live? Iwould love to get together some time with anyone in this area. Aedan just recently said the first negative thing about his eyes and i feel it would help him to see he is not alone. Guest guest
Hi all, This is Gemma, in Madrid. You mentioned " the gelin " ... is there any ointment to put in the eyes? My son (6 monts) does not make any teardrops, so he usually gots lots of (my God I don't know the name in English)mucous and white things in the eyes, and of course his eyes are very dry all the time mainly during the night. Could anybody recommend any ointment, I would appreciate the name and the laboratory who makes it (just in case in Spain the commercial name is different) Thanks and regards from the sunny Madrid.
