Guest guest
, Your words ring true my friend. Doing the right thing can sometimes be the hardest thing you have ever done in your life. I remember a time when I had to make that choice. I had allot of help from some really close friends. Most people will not admit to such things but I have learned that pride kills the soul. I have also found out that through God's grace and wisdom, anything is possible. Be true to your own hearts and " Do the Right Thing " and above all have faith and courage in yourselves. Be the Under Dog! In praise, Bob a personal question to each of you... > From: eeblack@... > > Who is your hero? > > During my struggle to decide to stay in or get out, I have been doing a lot of soul searching. In weighing the pros of continued military service (trips, friends, extra income, etc.) versus the single overwhelming drawback (anthrax vaccine and its risks - the threat or liklihood of being activated doesn't count. I have remained in the service even though it appeared likely we would be activated for Gulf War and also Bosnia. I am not afraid of fulfilling this obligation to defend the US or its interests)I have continually dwelled upon an image of one of my personal heroes. I cannot tell you his name. He is just a guy who was walking home from the grocery store. You all have seen what he did. He was the guy who stood in front of the line of tanks in Tienanman Square in China. He had the courage to stand in front of an insurmountable force and affected their course. He " did the right thing. " > > That is why he is my hero, and why everyone who does the right thing when it's easier to look the other way is my hero also. > > I am no longer hiding anonymously because I am doing nothing wrong. I am asking questions with proper respect and attempting to counter DOD claims with factual responses using established sources. Many of you have contributed to my information base, some I have found on my own. I hope to give more than I receive. I will not stop even if I quit the Guard because my friends and fellow service members deserve better. > > Even though it originated from Alcoholics Anonymous I find this prayer gives me strength: > > God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. > > Let's change things, shall we? > > Blackburn > 121 ARW > Ohio Air National Guard > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > GET A NEXTCARD VISA, in 30 seconds!
