Jens' surgery

Hi everybody,

It's been a while since I posted a message. We were very busy and

there never seemed to be a suitable moment to read through the

postings (I'm aware of the fact that this is a lame excuse). In the

meanwhile Jens underwent his first surgery by Dr Christian Decock in

Gent. He had an YV-canthoplasty. We think the result is great. Jens

was very brave before and after surgery. A few hours after surgery

he was already playing like nothing had happened. He was actually

quite funny. When we let him take a look in the mirror (a couple of

hours after surgery when his eyes were still a little swollen) his

reaction was: " Oh no, my eyes look smaller. They made a mistake " .

After having said this he just went on playing, not making a big

deal out of it. Now he really sees and understands what they did. We

let him look in the mirror and compare with a picture before his

surgery. He doesn't like it anymore when family or friends ask him

about the surgery. In his opinion enough has been said and he's

probably right. I posted a picture in the album.
