Guest guest
My 2 and a half yr old is just getting over a nasty bout of head cold trouble. Know how you feel! I gave her Vit C, zinc, Echinacea and garlic and plenty of fluids, especially juices. She is eventually getting better, but, it is taking a while. Isn't it a worry, this parenting business?! I, personally, will feel MUCH better when we have a homeopath to call on at times like this. Having a professional like that on the end of the phone to consult with will make me feel more confident. Have you got a homeopath Amy? Sue SAHM dd Ruby 2.6 yrs Wales, UK

Guest guest
And remember - ONLY cool mist humidifiers! I know someone whose baby's hand was severely burned by a regular humidifier. The mom thought she would remember to turn it off, but forgot about it and the baby crawled over to it. Right now I would love to use a humidifier. I feel like I'm drying up because we are using the heat. It's actually a little cold here in south Texas right now. But damned if I can find a SAFE place for any type of humidifier. Oh sure you say, just put it on a shelf or table. But then that leads to the cord problem. Why oh why can't there be at least one electrical socket in every room that is situated HIGH on the wall instead of so low. So now you say, well just tape the cord to the wall or use one of those tube wall thingies to get the cord out of reach. Those things still have fallibilities and I am just too paranoid about my baby dumping a humidifier of hot water onto herself! Guest guest
I will second that. i never have to medicate my daughter when she has a cold, if there is a humidifier in her room. she sleeps right through, phlegm and all. kim > > > > > have you tried putting a humiifier in her room at nite??? that may help... > it works unbelievably well when my lil one is stuffy (me too)... > >
Guest guest
Yes, i say soberly, my daughter burned her finger on a humidifier. i now put it up high where she cannot get it. and its only on when she is in her crib. it was a bad burn, and we used neosporin on it so that it would not become infected. it healed beautifully. kim In a message dated 12/28/2001 10:23:47 AM Central Standard Time, HolisticMomma@... writes: > Subj:Re: help sick baby > Date:12/28/2001 10:23:47 AM Central Standard Time > From: HolisticMomma@... > Reply-to: Vaccinations > Vaccinations > > > > > And remember - ONLY cool mist humidifiers! Guest guest
Kim, I am so happy to hear your daughter's finger is all better! You say you used neosporin for the healing process. I was just wondering what you did at the time of the burn to " take the heat out " . Did you run cold water over it? And also wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the info out there that states that Vitamin C water sprayed onto a burn at the time of the burn and during healing will help. And I guess everyone already knows about aloe vera and vitamin E. Also lots of info that states pure lavender oil at the time of the burn and during healing is very beneficial. Guest guest
I never medicate either. He's had one cold in his 13 months, but he always gets a stuffy/runny nose when he's got a new tooth coming through. He never runs a fever with it, just gets the nose thing. Cool mist humidifier works wonders for him and myself! Actually to run as hot of water over it as you can stand works better (its like homeopathy!) And DON'T need an antibiotic ointment such as neosporin - but you know that now don't you Kim! Try it next time!
