This may be a really dumb question but I'm going to ask anyway!

Do any of you know of a natural pain reducer? I have minor Arthritus

and pull muscles easy seems like I'm always sore! I HATE taking Pain

killers since I need like6 to even take the edge off the pain. Like

now I did something to my neck yesterday it is killing me and I cant

turn to the left. I've tried hot and cold compresses, Chiro, hot

showers, massage none have helped. minimal relief but very minimal!

I'm lost and in pain! Can anyone help?

Thanks Marcia

Marcia,

Try Valerian.. it is a great muscle relaxant. My chiropractor told me about

it.. and it really works!

Try it. :-)

Marcia, i caught that terrible flu that was going round in dec/ jan 99 (i

cant remember what they were calling it, maybe australian flu). i had a

splitting headache and was sicker than i had been in my life. ibuprofen,

paracetamol... nothing nothing touched it. (ive never had such a headache

that doesnt respond to drugs. )

anyway a doctor that uses homoepahty as well gave me someting called CEPHYL

it was incredible. now i dont know if it was homopathic and so worked just

for me or if it is a general painkiller but it was a miracle remedy.

I have tried to look for it again, but so far nothing in english on the web

about cephyl, though its there in other languages. seems like its made by

boiron?? sheri do you knwo anything about this?

And you probably know what I'd say - see a homepath and get at the root of

this.

There is a magnesium drink called Natural Calm which is the best muscle

relaxant I've found.

Glucosomine, Chondroiton and MSM are also very helpful along with a rather

expensive supplement called SAM-e.

Boswella, ginger and tumeric are really good anti-inflamatories as well as a

digestive enzyme called bromelain.

White willow bark is also good for inflamation and pain.

I read further along that you are breastfeeding. I have no idea if any of

these are ok with breastfeeding.

Cephyl is widely used as general pain killer in France, made by Boiron I

believe. You should check Boiron web site and ask them where to find it in

the US. (I assume you are in the US?) I did the same for anotehr of their

remedies and they responded witthin 24 hours. They also tell you who would

do mail order.

Not sure, but just because it worked for you doesn't mean it would work for

her ;-)

Remember symptoms have to be individualized and it sounds like this is

something long term and chronic and needs an expert homeopath

And I would suggest, from a clasical homeopathic perspective, this would be

using homeopathic remedies allopathically - suppressively. It sounds like

a chronic, recurring thing that needs to be addressed, individually.

I hear ya about the car thing. I don't have the car much either. But hey,

you don't need a car anyway. All you need is that lovely thing called a

credit card and the Internet. :) I've ordered from www.iherb.com and

www.nourishingfood.com and have been pleased with both. Even found SODIUM

ascorbate powder at iherb.

I know many here in this group use homeopathic, I use some

but more herbs then homeopathic remedies. So from a

different perspective, I have found that arthritis is a symptom of a

high acidic ph level. Changing your diet to more alkalining

foods and easier to digest foods sometimes helps. (Eliminating

coffee, sodas, sugar, dairy) Also, high amounts of Noni have

been reported to be as effective as pain killers.

MSM/Glucosamine Cream is also benifical for pain. And as

stated earlier Cal/Mag works good as an everyday supplement.

my sister and her family and my parents and my aunt, and my cousin are all on

the Tahitian Noni Juice (I have it in my fridge and can't get past the smell

YUCK YUCK)

anyhoo, after about 3 months, my mother went off all of her arthritis

medication, my cousin's pulmonologist wants all the information Mark can get and

told him NOT to stop taking it htat he's never heard his lungs as clear as they

were the last time that he went, my aunt ... well, I don't know why she started

takign it in the first place... LOL my sister has kidney issues and I don't

think she's been back to her nephrologist since she started taking it, but her

dh was on the verge of some sort of foot surgery when he started taking the

noni. He couldn't hardly walk in the mornings, and after about 8 weeks he got

up and noticed a difference.

I should take it.... sadly, I don't. Maybe it will be my new years resolution.

Thanks for all the great info everyone! I'm looking for a hp

unfortunately the closest one I've found so far is like 2 hrs away

and moving across country come the new year :o( The next one is

about 3hrs ugh! If you've ever been to central maine you know a 3 hr

trip in winter can be very dangerous. SSOOOOO I dont know what I'm

going to do . I was told there was one about 15minutes away but cant

rmember a name and cant find them anywhere.

Most of these remedies and such, would I find them at a health food

store or what?

I know of 3 good ones in the area(well within 30 minutes) BUT I only

have a car like 1 time aweek(hubby has aawful hours at work) then I

have to take the kids (4 1/2, 2 1/2 and 15mo) and dred having to LOOK

for things.

Do they have a Homeopathy book for dummies by anychance? LOL I need

to find some good ones but I'm pretty clueless!

I have a friend who is totally on herbal health(has emphazima for

almost 15yrs, HAD breast cancer, her hubby HAD prostate cancer) I've

learned a lot from her but need to know MUCH more and how to get to

the root of the problems!

Thanks for any more help you can offer! ;o) Marcia

Marcia,

What could be more natural than a therapeutic grade essential oil? They are

the healing liquids that come from nature - plants, flowers, trees etc.

Wintergreen oil with it's corisone like effect or Peppermint oil with it's pain

blocking properties might be helpful for your pain. If you don't know much about

them, it is really a fascinating learning adventure. It is quite interesting to

learn that plants contain natural chemical compounds that are pain relieving,

muscle relaxing, calming etc. I invite you to browse my website to learn more

about them.

,

How about this delicious alternative - Berry Young Juice - rated by Tuft's

University, Boston MA. as the #1 antioxident product on the market today. It is

rated higest in it's ability to absorb free radicals. I drink it straight out

of the bottle - YUM, YUM!! YOu can read more about it on my website.

did you try surrounding states?

No, you have to see a homeopath for something chronic.

I'm teaching a class on the net and will be starting another end of

January. Ask on the list how the class is - many are attending.

Books are on my website

http://www.nccn.net/~wwithin/homeo.htm

But again, any remedy you try may work temporarily, not at all, or actually

suppress your symptoms which isn't good. See a homeopath

Some places to a direct debit from your checking account, or you could mail a

check (but that takes longer). I used to do this before I had credit cards.
