" here are a couple of answers to some of your questions, i'm scheduled to take the shot on wednesday, and i'm not gonna do it myself, but heres what i've found out so far: 1) in answer to FDA approval, yes it is FDA approved, under the condition it is used as designed, any deviation from prescribed use makes it an experimental/investiagional drug, which in most cases you have to sign an informed consent form saying you know its not approved for the reasons you are using it. The president signed legislation executive order 13139 (i believe thats the right number) that gives the DoD permission to use experimental/investigational drugs on service members if they think the drug will help combat some type of bioweapon that will be used, also in this bill gives the DoD the right to waive your right to informed consent about the fact that this drug is not being used as prescribed. 2)If you've only got a year left your still stuck, unless you are within a month of your EAOS they'll make you take it in case you decide to reenlist 3)If you are a deployer you will definitely take it and take it soon, the only people who are getting away with it for a little while longer are people on shore duty 4)Theres an air force Major about to be court martialed for not taking it, (Major Sonnie Bates, stationed at Dover AFB in Delaware)If you want to read about it go to http://www.cincypost.com/news/bates111299.html 5)It is the same vaccine used by the factory workers, and it hasn't been thoroughly tested for airborne protection, there have been like 3 studies on animals, and depending on the type of animal it will protect you between 20-90 percent of the time airborne, if you have all 6 doses as prescribed. 6)There is a law HR 2458 that is proposed to stop the testing of this drug on DoD personnel and if you have been punished for disobeying and not taking the drug any convictions are to be overturned, but that won't be voted on at least till late january since congress is in recess till then if you can think of anything else don't hesitate to contact me, you can catch me on icq at 42278892 ldynred (its my wife icq#). If you are wondering i'm a 6 year second class in the navy stationed on a sub in groton CT. Sincerely Arthur Kendrick art283@...
