Dr. Duffy, While I agree that exposure to TB alone is clearly not enough to

cause TB, in my mind, this could also mean that protein deficiency is

necessary but not sufficient to cause TB. Otherwise TB would be far more

widespread given that many people are probably protein deficient,

particularly in the third world. Surely you aren't saying the TB bacterium

has nothing to do with TB. Isn't it more logical that, if protein

deficiency is necessary, that it must be combined with something else, i.e.,

TB, the bacteria? (That is neither the bacteria alone, nor protein

deficiency alone, are enough to cause the disease, but together, in the

right combination, they are?)

Re: [DoctorYourself Newsletter]Vol 2, No 1 October 24, 2001

The fact that TB is a protein deficiency disease has

long been known. Not too long ago, one of the universities

released a study confirming that suspicion. I believe it was

reported in Science.

None of these diseases of which we speak are transmissable.

1. Tell me where else in the world, except in the human

lung, will you find a TB bug?

2. And what do you think the rate of TB is in this third

world of which you speak?

3. I never mentioned the TB bacterium. The TB bacterium

is made by human lungs in protein deficient people. It is

the result of, not the cause of, TB.

4. Ever hear of anyone working in a TB sanatarium catching

TB from one of the inmates? I haven't and my father spent

three years in one, 1947 to 1950. He lived on bean sandwiches

during the depression years trying to raise six kids.

You have an infection of your thought process, it is infected by

the germ theory of disease, not to worry though, it is one helluva

job, getting rid of that. haha

Keep smiling.

Then why do you consider TB merely a protein deficiency disease? Isn't

there some other co-factor?

Sandy

Re: [DoctorYourself Newsletter]Vol 2, No 1 October 24, 2001

don't you think someone living on bean sandwiches

would be protein deficient??

Do you really think you get good protein from fruits

and veggies/legumes and grains?? HAHA

Then why don't all protein deficient people, including your father, get all

" protein deficient " diseases?

Re: [DoctorYourself Newsletter]Vol 2, No 1 October 24, 2001

look at it this way, in chiropractic we say that

anything can cause anything...........

and you take it from there. Of course there are

cofactors, everything in the body and everything

in the environment, what the hell does co-factor

mean, I never could grasp that too well although

I use the idea myself on occasion.......

The bad habit is to keep looking for this that or the

other and fogging up the situation.

Dr. Duffy, I'm sorry about your father not being able to eat what you

consider to be the optimal diet. I don't mean to belabor the point, but I'm

trying to understand what you think constitutes protein deficiency and if

you think it always results in all protein deficiency diseases. And if it

doesn't, there must be some co-factor which I believe it is important that

we try and understand. Sandy

Re: [DoctorYourself Newsletter]Vol 2, No 1 October 24, 2001

my point was that my Dad (God rest his soul)

did not eat enough animal protein probably

because we were so poor.

Dr. Duffy, Forgive me if I don't buy the notion that there is no protein in

vegetable food.

And you still haven't answered my basic question about co-factors. I think

we should drop this discussion - it really isn't going anywhere at this

point. Sandy

Re: [DoctorYourself Newsletter]Vol 2, No 1 October 24, 2001

a protein deficiency is a deficiency in animal food.

Protein is meat, fish, fowl, eggs, milk.

Everything that grows is carbohydrate.

They both contain fat.

Everything that moves around or issues forth from what

moves around is protein.

That is my definition of protein.

If you don't eat animal food, you had better eat a wide

variety of foods and they better be uncooked.

Vegetarianism is nigh onto impossible these days.

Dr. Duffy, I would love to get the citation. Thanks, Sandy

Re: [DoctorYourself Newsletter]Vol 2, No 1 October 24, 2001

I never heard of a doctor, nurse or paramedic

who " caught " TB working in a sanatarium.

The idea is simply ridiculous. The only place in

the universe you find a TB bug is in a lung.

The proof of the nutritional aspect was published

not long ago in a scientific journal as a result of a

university study. We continue to belabor these things

unnecessarily.
