Guest guest
Hello! I haven't posted recently, but thought I'd give it a go. I took my 2 mo. old (vaccine free) son for his well-check (no lectures on that, I have my reasons), and was not given any hassle on not vaccinating. I had placed an exemption form in his file at his first weight check after he was born. The nurse mentioned the form to confirm I didn't want any, and the P.A. didn't mention it at all. I call that a success. My Ped has recently started giving a form that has to be filled out before shots that asks if the child is sick, has a fever, etc. BUT, the sheets with the CDC info were in the info pkg. I received AFTER the appointment. How crazy is that? Here are the risks involved in the shots your child just had. I did notice that they had updated the sheets to include more risks, though for most of them they say the reactions happen immediately after the shots. One piece of info on the sheets I questioned -- it claimed there have been no serious reactions to the Prevnar. Where can I find info to the contrary, b/c I know I have heard here or elsewhere that there have been some? Also - we recently had a " virus " that had varying combinations of these symptoms: High fever, headache and sensitive eyes, sore throat and/or glands, upset stomach, and a day or so after the fever -- pinpoint red spots over the entire body that last a few days. Is it my imagination, or does that sound like a type of measles? My nephew had it, starting with the fever, was diagnosed with an ear infection, given antibiotics, but when he broke out with the spots was told it was viral and taken back off of the antibiotics (amazingly enough!) No doctor ever mentioned measles for any of the people that went. What do you think -- measles, wild measles/atypical measles, or something else? Thanks for the input!
