" There is no evidence it will be the next pandemic, " Dr. Gerberding, head

of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, said of avian flu.

There is " no evidence it is evolving in a direction that is becoming more

transmissible to people. "

You may not want to order in hot wings for your couch viewing next month: ABC

has announced a May Sweeps' bird-flu thriller!

" Fatal Contact: Bird Flu in America " is set to air May 9, reports Starr

at the NY POST.

The movie stars Keach, y , Ann Cusack and e Machado in

a tale of a worst-case scenario, if the bird-flu virus was transmitted to humans

in America.

" We feel we're providing a level of awareness and we've gone to great effort to

make sure the film is accurate, " co-producer Judith Verno said. " We've included

a lot of information we believe people need to know. "

" We had wonderful consultants who were actually ahead of the [bird-flu] curve, "

Kerew said. " The way the disease popped up in China, then moved to Turkey and

Africa, were things we already knew about. "

" Our movie has a character who was in Iraq and got the bird flu there and

survived - and, as we were shooting, the bird flu hit Iraq, " Verno said.

Fear sells almost everything, some of it very subtle. It sells children's

encyclopedias,

(fear that your child will be behind & maybe not go to college, have a poor

financial future)

It even sells some vacuum cleaners, some claim health benefits, others claim to

get

destructive dirt cutting away at the base of your expensive carpet fibers

(carpet then

gets referred to as 'investment') Of course it sold the Anthrax vaccine, even

the war in Iraq.

The list is endless. If an ad is designed to make you feel a product is needed,

the

fear is in there..

These bio disaster films sure have gotten popular. Didn't Clinton read some

book of

fiction along these lines and make some decisions as a result???
