Guest guest
You can starting seeing the folks at the ADC. I had a one on one with my CC and told him before anything got started that i didnt want him to waste time or training on someone who intended to refuse the shots. I said Id deploy but he would have to get me a full vaccine waiver. i explained that my long history of family mystery diseases meant i took no chances with my health. of course i was prepared to go in depth w my months of vaccine research to show i wasnt just " going off of stuff from the internet " . he was a good guy though and i prayed pretty hard so it worked out wo the need for any legal battles. my friend took an alternate route: she took one shot, filed a vaers right away and i believe got an exemption from further shots (filling out a vaers for each and every vaccine you take is highly recommended as it shows your sensitivity to them). that would requiring getting a single shot though which i would not accept. God bless you sir, youll get through it! > > When I violate the direct order to take the vaccine what can I do to prepare? > > Respectfully, > > Capt Dean USAF >
Guest guest
Thanks for the support. It's good to hear both legal and just ways to avoid this. Prayer probably made all the difference. At the last minute my prayers were answered and I did not have to take them. Guest guest
DN, maybe you need to see a different VA Counselor if you are not getting any help. Also, it may help if you take someone with you who can listen with a different mindset. You should not be experiences these problems with VA since you have your line of duty. What percentage of disability did you get? What state are you living in? Friend took six years and ended up getting six figures for her claim which doesn't help her health, but she has had nothing to say but good things about VA. I didn't have to take the vaccine, but I too have had no problem with VA. > > You were lucky. Guest guest
I was in the army reserve in 2004, and refused. Was told at the time I was the only army reserve officer to refuse. Had to write letter of resignation in lieu of adverse action, and oh, by-the-way, leave out the part of refusing the anthrax vaccine. 1 year later I received my d/c under other than honorable conditions. Who cares? The army's loss. I was a 1LT at the time, they could have, should have, deployed me, I was already slotted for CPT, whether or not I got promoted I didn't care, they should have put a LOR (letter of reprimand) in my file, and we all move on. I only had 5.5 years left to retirement, and if I retired as a 1LT, I would have been fine with that. Meanwhile, the army lost a dual trained (2 MOS's) army officer who was prior enlisted, and a great asset. The only thing I wanted was my health to stay the crappy way it was (I suffer from a lot of migraines and didn't need anything to exacerbate the situation). I choose my health. There are a lot of people out there who don't have military retirements. I don't believe these discharges follow you around like they make it out to be. But that's my opinion. Although in the military, you still have a choice. You may not like your choices, but you have a choice. From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of airforcebabe696@...
