These are the key words " never been reported. " The reporting system being

used is passive and, therefore, not accurate. Near death reactions have been

reported and those experiencing these do not really want to give it a second

try by taking another anthrax vaccination. , should you have the

anthrax shot and be one of the unfortunate to experience a near death

reaction, you will have to report the reaction yourself because the military

will not do it for you.

Also, no long term studies have ever been conducted as to future health

problems so , you are not out of the woods yet if you take the shot.

If chemical warfare is used in an area you may be, there have never been any

studies on humans as far as inhaled anthrax so your survival rate is still in

question.

If you want to play Russian Roullette, that should be your choice. No one

should pull the trigger for you. , if you try to look at this from

the other side of the coin, you might find some compassion for us.

I agree with all of you on this person but he is not worth all the

frustration. He is obviously not a patriot and, by his own words against the

United States military, not worthy of discussion. As far as his choice of

profanity, that simply shows the world what a poorly educated individual he

really is.

Mr. Fumento has shown his true side. His comment about prancing around

airplanes one weekend a month shows his lack of research on the subject.

His research or the lack thereof on the Air National Guard is about as good

as his research on Anthrax.

, you should win a prize for tact. You are a much better person than me.

I personally would like to get this guy in an alley somewhere and reason

with him that way. Guess I need to work on that. I tried to reason with

this guy offering him links and other info and it got me nowhere. I am

forwarding his letter and his response about the Agent Orange comment to

every vet group that I belong to encouraging them to contact his editor. The

editor needs to know what kind of loose cannon he has on board. Merry

Christmas to everyone on the list and Meryl and Mark a very special thanks to

you for all of your help with my son, . He has still not heard anything

on his punishment and told me today that it will be sometime next year before

he hears anything. God Bless all of you, Jimmy

I once posted a sign to the effect " Profanity is the vain effort of a feeble

mind attempting to express itself " Need we say more.

Can you provide more information about the near-death

reaction from the anthrax vaccine you are talking

about? I am interested in reading or talking to

someone about that.

Today I was asked to testify at a Senate Veterans Affairs Committee

oversight hearing on the research and treatment of Gulf War Illnesses

on September 25, 2007 at 9:30 am in the Dirksen building, Room 562.

Let's all work together to use this newly-kindled interest in Gulf

War veterans' illnesses to obtain Congressionally-mandated,

worthwhile approaches to treatment and research for all soldiers and

veterans injured as a result of their service to this country.

I appreciate the work of everyone else on this issue, especially

those who have helped teach me what veterans have had to face, and

worked with me as patients to identify helpful approaches to treatment.
